mctsts: what if you inversely tie it to elected roles existing
mctsts: "when all hope seems lost, the clerics prayers are heard, allowing them to bless one player"
mctsts: this would add a weird niche strat of resigning from elected positions to get access to the protection + the potential for the wolves to abuse this
shapechange: so they can only bless when there are no living elected roles (during a night)?
mctsts: yea
shapechange: mm
shapechange: i think if we really needed this role/niche, that would work well
shapechange: but i'm not convinced that we do need this role and i don't love the nicheness of the workaround
mctsts: pros: it couldnt run for mayor, so it wouldnt be just basically another runner cons: it may be too weak
captainluffy: I just think there's a lack of good tp roles rn, I always have a hard time adding them to a list since they're mostly all confirmable
shapechange: sure but i dont think this fixes that problem
mctsts: i mean I feel like it helps to solve the problem
mctsts: that statement is independent of whether this is a good or practical role
mctsts: I actually find this idea hilarious
venomousbirds: 1x guardian?
mctsts: <@277156693765390337> what is your opinion on this GREAT role!
Summary: Once per game, at night, protect a player at night from attacks. (+ attacker is told their target was blessed, though imo that mechanic is optional)
But here's my amazing idea: The power only works if no elected roles exist
mctsts: "when all hope seems lost, the clerics prayers are heard, allowing them to bless one player"
mctsts: Making resigning an elected role an actually valid strat in late game cleric games
venomousbirds: lmao
mctsts: I find it hilarious, but I dont care to argue for it
mctsts: But I think it would be great
venomousbirds: this is terrible but also so easily claimable
mctsts: and it can even run for mayor d1
mctsts: because then it blocks itself
venomousbirds: WAHAHHAHAHA
mctsts: but thats good!
mctsts: we dont need another mayor claimer
venomousbirds: this is such a terrible role
venomousbirds: its so funny
mctsts: it IS terrible
mctsts: but I think it would actually be good
mctsts: It's simple, it's niche, it's terrible, it's great, it makes underutilized mechanics valid
e_thsn:
If it's making prayers, it could only work if admins allow it because admins are gods /j
mctsts: What more could you want
venomousbirds: whatever anyone says about this role, you can always counter it with "at least its claimable!!!"
venomousbirds: and we always need more easily claimable roles!!!
mctsts: i mean I genuinely unironically think this could be good
venomousbirds: i think we'll use this in like 5 games to try and test it and it will be useless in every single one of them
mctsts: I think that's a possibility but I doubt it
mctsts: I think it will be useful in at least 2 of the 5
mctsts: actually
mctsts: lets go with 1
mctsts: also gotta make sure it has a: After Night 1
venomousbirds: id suggest to limit the ability to n2 onwards
mctsts: cant let it random use its protection in Night 1
mctsts: LMAO
mctsts: yeah
mctsts: I personally am a big fan of almost useless roles
venomousbirds: itd take away its use on that one game so now its useful in 0 of those 5 games
venomousbirds: but it's a better check than a cit check yknow!!!
captainluffy: Once per game during the night, the cleric may protect one player.
Thought it might be good to have another non conformable tp role
