venomousbirds: its a good thing to base it on tho
venomousbirds: its a formula that works
venomousbirds: need to die/ascend through x and then cancel x
pokemoncross:
kill James
James: Riding Hood dea
sarvak2:
Citizen is far less interesting
Has there been any discussion on how to make cit more engaging for the player? Like obviously it's a necessary evil to have powerless filler so town can't defend itself fully, but it's been acknowledged a lot that it's incredibly dull
sarvak2: The game just happens around you
mctsts: Yes the way to do it is to reduce confirmable roles
mctsts: We've been working on this for probably over a year
pokemoncross: trying to buff a lil for borderland citizens
thekremblin: we always say that IN THEORY cit should be claiming weird things and trying to bait wolves but in practice 20% of the time that does happen and 80% of the time cits just go inactive
venomousbirds: we used to put journalist into lists instead of cit and it did work until the new journo meta was created
mctsts: Citizen is only boring if a) there is a very fast solid TT b) you choose to make it boring
mctsts: Most citizen players choose b)
venomousbirds:
we always say that IN THEORY cit should be claiming weird things and trying to bait wolves but in practice 20% of the time that does happen and 80% of the time cits just go inactive
and the worst part is that they dont
venomousbirds: like in the recent VIP game i wouldve been useless bait
venomousbirds: there was a hooker and an idiot
mctsts: But for the ones that have a boring game due to a) we can improve it with less confirmable roles
e_thsn: We've had games where cits have lead town, because they just read townie
venomousbirds: cit is wayy more fun if youre active
pokemoncross: look at these Borderland Citizens !!
sarvak2:
we always say that IN THEORY cit should be claiming weird things and trying to bait wolves but in practice 20% of the time that does happen and 80% of the time cits just go inactive
I always feel weird claiming things as citizen. Cause if wolves don't take the bait, you waste towns time
pokemoncross: oooooooohhhhhhhhhhhh
pokemoncross: idk if this looks like <:token:1162000508693774377>
pokemoncross: if so
sarvak2: You gotta claim in public, or to players you think are wolves and at that point they're probably on the lynch radar
pokemoncross: @Clairvoyant Fox
mctsts: I do not understand a single one of your contributions to this conversation
sarvak2: And if you claim in public, it's gotta be a confirmable role to be worth shouting out
pokemoncross: Citizens public claim ?
sarvak2: So if you can't confirm, you waste a lynch for town and their time
e_thsn:
I always feel weird claiming things as citizen. Cause if wolves don't take the bait, you waste towns time
Claim cit to TT and say you're gonna claim FT in public and accuse someone random then claim something like FT in public
mctsts: There might not be TT early one
pokemoncross:
I do not understand a single one of your contributions to this conversation
(me... ?)
mctsts: But you can probably explain the strategy you were going for later
mctsts: Or you can document it in a journal cc
sarvak2:
Claim cit to TT and say you're gonna claim FT in public and accuse someone random then claim something like FT in public
What if there's not a TT early, or they don't believe you and think you're wolf trying to intercept TT?
mctsts: If you have a solid explanation behind what you did you're likely to be more believable than a wolf citizen claim that did absolutely nothing
sarvak2: Like the few times I've been citizen I've basically sat on my ass because I've found it incredibly difficult to actually have an impact
sarvak2: I mean, in fairness, I also don't ever use enough CCs so maybe it's a me problem
mctsts: last time I was citizen the game got reset N1 because town had won
venomousbirds: lmao???
venomousbirds: ive been cit in tt multiple times, however mostly because scum didnt counterclaim it much and i was confirmed early on
venomousbirds: one game, scum didnt claim cit at all <:pffffft:705639986384601110>
mctsts: ive been unconfirmed in tt several times just be seeming towny enough
im_dumm0: i remember the thief game where i was imortal till fed stole my role then i stole matos who was wolfpack and exposed all of them
venomousbirds:
ive been unconfirmed in tt several times just be seeming towny enough
ive had that too tbh
mctsts: so there's tons of things you can do with no powers and without being confirmed
venomousbirds: always happy when people go for reads instead of confirmation
venomousbirds: id be too anxious to do that
mctsts: its a winning strategy
e_thsn: Each night the gambler must guess who they think will die that night, upon guessing everyone correctly the gambler will receive an investigation the following day. The gambler ascends and wins upon three successful guesses.
