venomousbirds: i stick with getting into tt as scum
venomousbirds: but yeah
venomousbirds: tt needs to depend more on reads sometimes
venomousbirds: otherwise it falls apart like that one game
mctsts: anyway most people that complain about getting the weak roles have not tried playing as a weak role
venomousbirds: where tt was so untrusting it was completely divided and caused a wolf win
mctsts: weak town roles are my favorite as you can play the most
mctsts: people just ... dont
pokemoncross: like ranger ?
mctsts: yes
sarvak2:
always happy when people go for reads instead of confirmation
I just feel like there's no point sometimes, and it's just so risky for so little reward and it's fucking scary ngl
venomousbirds: im also anxious but sometimes people read so town its obvious and you cant ignore it
mctsts: as a weak town role you are in the best position to engage in public strategies and discussion and you don't need to worry about getting killed
venomousbirds: yeah!
venomousbirds: its great to get public activity going
venomousbirds: it'll get people to think more openly and you can get more reads
mctsts: and best case wolves see you contributing in town square and kill you for being useful
mctsts: which wastes a kill on a non-power role
mctsts: anyway instant D1 TT does make it harder (but not at all impossible) so that's what we should avoid having
mctsts: back to the role, is there anything this would do for the teams? <@544125116640919557>

I think making deals in exchange for information, either in voting power or providing information, maybe even acting like a spy
Especially the latter, it's definitely a role that lends to being neutral beneficial since you need to correctly guess all kills
e_thsn: Being a double or even triple agent would work
e_thsn: Plus I think it impacts chaos, feeding false info so town/wolves kill who you want
mctsts: solid reply
mctsts: i dont think it will work
mctsts: weve seen that the deals usually only ever lead to a free late game win
mctsts: which immediately ruins the point of reaching a win of its own merit
e_thsn:

Pity wins is really the crux of making good UA
e_thsn: It's a hard thing to make a UA that doesn't get a pity win, the only one I can think of is chef since you kinda have to actively protect your own waiter
e_thsn: To win with chef
venomousbirds:

despot and angel have recently gotten wins all on their own
e_thsn: Yeah but what I mean is a UA that it's next to impossible to pity win with, angel and despot have had tonnes of free wins at the end of a game in the past
venomousbirds: definitely, but theyve also won on their own before
venomousbirds: not all ua have
mctsts: yeah but this's role independent winning strategy is guessing well
wwhythough: Lets go gambling
venomousbirds: ah dangit
shapechange: ah dangit
kalimoor:

💀
mctsts: <@&1045732542399131769> yes/no?
captainluffy: i vote no (i cannot react)
mctsts: I vote no
mctsts: But I didn't mean to make a poll here
e_thsn: Each night the gambler must guess who they think will die that night, upon guessing everyone correctly the gambler will receive an investigation the following day. The gambler ascends and wins upon three successful guesses.
