Ts: that is what we have Lupine Cupid for
shapechange: i don't see what your point is
shapechange: it still fucks over wolves and is essentially impossible to win as
shapechange: not impossible, obviously, but ridiculously hard
Ts: im not sure if thats accurate
Ts: its very difficult, but the wolves have no means of figuring it our nor can they kill the lover unless they lynch them
Ts: i suppose town can figure out too easily that the lupine cupid isnt town aligned
Ts: so perhaps all cupids should be disguised as cupid
shapechange:
its very difficult, but the wolves have no means of figuring it our nor can they kill the lover unless they lynch them
cupid will presumably be the only non-pack member/proven packless - obviously they could try fake a packless, but that's generally unlikely to remain a solid claim til endgame, and even if it does, when game doesn't end pack will obviously realise. then they just lynch that person, presuming they have more than two votes (two wolves with one mayor, or three wolves). like i said, not impossible presuming a small game and/or a game well-fought by town (in which case it's more likely to be a tie, very rarely would there be an outright win), just very hard and most likely not particularly based on skill
Ts: cupid isn't supposed to try to be a pack member, they're supposed to blend in with town
shapechange: i don't see how that makes their job any easier?
shapechange: either town have the lead, in which case the wolf lover will be found and the pair NKed or lynched; or, the pack have the lead, in which case the cupid will be found and lynched. in both scenarios, presuming a lot of luck, there is potential for the pair to win, but it would be on luck
Ts: the idea is as they have a person in either team, that they work towards equalising the teams
Ethan.:

Can't 2 wolves or 1 alpha out vote the lover?
Ethan.: In pack
Ts: but that wouldnt kill the cupid
Ts: they can kill the lover if they are exposed
Ts: but there's no way to get exposed
Ethan.: Ohh
Ethan.: I see what you mean
Ethan.: I thought you meant that wolves can't kill Cupid because of protection
Ethan.: Not that whoever is the lover wolf can't be exposed by wolves
Captain Luffy: I think current version is fine but the disguise idea was good
Relaxed Mato: I agree with Wizard Lizard
Ts: I suggest we go halfway:
Ethan.:
I suggest we go halfway:
- town and wolf behaivor is kept
- cupid joins solo teams
So would we make a solo version of each and just describe them all as the solo aligned version of cupid
Ethan.: Actually how does www interact with Cupid since it's a team now

Change Cupid to just copy whatever alignment its lover has:
Pros: The role because infinitly more usable and understandable, and in some cases more winnable Cons: It takes out the town-sidedness that has always been a part of the role making it more similiar to Look-Alike
As this would be a major change to a role that has been around since the start, please think about your vote and if you have a preference and don't just put 🤷
✅ Approve ⛔ Deny 🤷 Abstain
shapechange: i would like to just quickly defend my vote with the argument that we never use look-alike, and that cupid is slightly less volatile than look-alike because it has essentially a downside (double death) equal to its upside (extra member)
Ts: I really don't want to change it, but it becomes so much more usable if we do and unlike LA it's actually usable in lists
shapechange: yah i understand your reluctance but i'd much rather have a role we can use than one that might be more unique and mechanically interesting but far less useable and understandable
Ts: It seems this will be getting approved
Vera but actually a frog: denying until i can read through properly
Vera but actually a frog: whens the last time cupid coupled with a wolf?
Ethan.: better question is when was the last non town lover
Vera but actually a frog: well no
Vera but actually a frog: not the better question
Vera but actually a frog: the original issue was wolf-cupid
Vera but actually a frog: so im touching on the original issue
Vera but actually a frog: but youre right in the part that cupid more often than not couples with town, its a higher chance after all
Ethan.: I meant better because yeah that last point
Ethan.: I've seen 2 non town couples
Ethan.: and one was a thiefs hell
Ethan.: well 3 actually
Ethan.: and 2 were thiefs hell
Ts: expect my reply in about an hour i have research I need to do
Ts: There are 77 total occurences of Cupid

Unaligned Role To be continued, I'm having dinner now
shapechange: he consumes
Vera but actually a frog: he consumes
The8thSoul: Btw, is this suggestion to get rid of all Cupid Variants and have the lone Cupid role that copies their lover's alignment?
shapechange: I've brought this up before but Cupid essentially gives an advantage to Town and some solo teams if it joins them, but a disadvantage to Wolves (and I believe some other solo teams) if it matches with a Wolf (and really fucks the game over for the Lover). Whilst it being a townsided role isn't necessarily a problem, the bit where it's almost impossible to win as a Cupid-Wolf pair (as far as I know, might have been interaction changes since I last checked) could do with a change imo.
