inline equations support per https://docs.mathjax.org/en/latest/input/tex/delimiters.html and followed syntax in https://www.mathjax.org/#gettingstarted

is it consistently working for you? just wondering, I've been testing on a few devices and find it failing on iOS. will investigate and get you a PR once I have a fix. apologies if I broke the package (but it seems like it wasn't working across all devices before either so I may have just changed the specific ways in which it was broken...)
