One of Team 51's partners uses Mailster to send newsletters. Mailster is configured to connect via SMTP to Postmark for this partner to send the emails. We were looking to make sure, in order of importance that:
Mailster would be blocked from sending emails via SMTP if Safety Net is enabled
Mailster would be blocked from sending emails via Sendmail, PHP's mail() function, or Qmail with Safety Net enabled
Mailster can override the wp_mail function, see here. Can Safety Net still stop emails from going out if this setting is enabled?
Mailster has several other extensions to send emails via APIs, such as for SendGrid, Mailgun, SparkPost, etc. See here. Would Safety Net block these emails as well?
1 above is the most critical for Team 51's partner at this time.
Alternatively, deactivating Mailster entirely is probably a better solution, based on the discussion with @NickGreen in Slack: p1683134120246949-slack-C01M1J49Q75
