Adobe Animate and Bodymovin / Lottie #1604

Hi!

we would be forever grateful to get Bodymovin/Lottie working ion Adobe Animate CC.

This software is the former 'Flash', and it is not the same as Adobe After Effects.

We are really looking forward for some good news, I find more and more people asking for the same.

Exactly!... I would expect something basic as Classic Tweens to work also, even Shape Tweens work only some times most times it won't export correctly just like Classic Tweens I really hope they are working on it...

We are working on setting up ways aggregate and better streamline this feedback and working on fix the issues with the classic tweens.

Great to hear! What we are using a lot is classic tweens with nested timelines, usually one movie clip placed many times on the timeline as graphics so we can see them animate together.

Great to see the beta is out! Very nice integration into Animate. However I must agree with others that its use is quite limited if classic or motion tweens do not work. Nested timelines of course would be ideal but I could live without that if at least the tweens were working correctly. Unfortunately in its current state I'm unable to export anything correctly. Looking forward to further developments! :)

edit: In fact, for the record, having tried it a bit more, basic shape tweens are not even working for me :( (latest Animate, Intel Mac)

Hi @jawish is there any news? the beta version was released at the end of January but (as you can see from the feedback) is almost unusable... is there any progress, any improved version coming out soon? please 🙏 ?

Just happened upon this plugin and thought i'd give it a whirl. So much potential!!! Hopefully the silence here is golden, i'd love for this magic to happen.

I was only able to get a basic shape tween to export also. Nothing fancy but rather just some color + position transform.

Hey all,

We are pleased to release an early access build of LottieFiles for Animate plugin for testing.

Scene export, main timelines, all shapes, and symbols are currently supported. This release does not currently handle all nested symbol timeline scenarios yet. Bitmap graphics support is not included in this release either, as we ran into a few issues that need more work to solve cleanly. We will be releasing regular updates in the coming weeks as we discover issues, fix them, and keep adding more features.

Please leave your candid feedback, feature requests, and bug reports at https://lottiefiles.com/discuss/product/animate-plugin.

There are a limited number of publically available Animate Project files; this limits our testing. It would be really helpful if you could share the use case, the sample file, or even the actual project file for us to replicate the issue. All files shared will be treated strictly confidential and will only be used for QA purposes.

Jawish and Ajay and Adobe team, thanks for the work you are bringing forward.

I just tried out again the plugin and it still does not work for basic items like rotating a rectangle or adding transparency. I see the same issues of almost two years ago, honestly it seems to me that your project is a little stuck.

Just for sake oh honest expectation management, after more than two years of development of the plugin, what is the roadmaop and when do you foresee the release of a reliable and reasonably working version?

Hi Naail, Lottie files team released this beta somewhere in Jan 2021 many users have sent them feedback about it (long story short - it sucks) we are now at the end of 2022 and no development or comment from them what's so ever very disappointing

Hi Naail,

we requested this plugin back in 2019 (!) and since then there have been several announcements from Adobe, but never really a decently working release. The release you mention is from around 2 years ago. As doronwolf23 also explained, lots of feedback was provided by the community, but embarrassing silence was the reaction from the team. This goes beyond disappointment.

They just stole the concept - a vector based browser "plugin" to render animations from FLASH and decided to give %^&* back to community. hell, even their logo is blatant "inspiration" from flash player:

it's a real shame, the ony alternative is rive. I can't imagine why animateCC didn't strive to have the best exporter for the web. Why would you use animate to create videos, we have after effects for that. I tried every exporter the webgl / easeljs / pixi ... the only one which is regularly updated is the pixi, but falls short.
