data-format should be reserved for mobilesingledouble and not be ambiguous such as bookend. The bookend flag should be set as data-bookend="true" and the styles need to be changed.
A related bug is that when you go from page one to the cover on mobile, the exiting page one goes to 50% width and doesn't look good.
