do you use stable diffusion at all? Or just dalle 3 and you take the prompt from the user and add the words in the style of a video thumbnail? And that is it?

It is Dall-E 3 and yes the final string submitted to the API is {user request} + "In the style of a YT thumbnail"

did you try making thumbnails on stable diffusion? Were the results poor or you didn't have an api to connect to?
