3spn, and UTComp #1

Hi there!

I would like to make a request to add UTComp and 3spn HUD's to this! These are the most played game modes.

There are multiple different versions around these days of 3spn or UTComp. A fix would be that it falls on the user to add the WideHUDmap they want like normal but a proper FoxWSFix.FowHideHud that works properly with these mods.

Currently it will work somewhat with this being added:

WideHUDMap=(HudClass=Class'utcompv17a.UTComp_HudCDeathmatch',WideHUD="foxWSFix.foxWideHudCDeathMatch")

the result is attached as a image. If we could get a way to properly add a hud fix that would be awesome!

3spn also uses a custom HUD and its very similar to UTComp.

Love widescreen fix. been playing 4:3 for years and wouldnt switch until i seen the latest release of this widescreen fix! Great bug3 bug2 bug1

also, UTComp uses a " Crosshair Factory " that also is overwritten when using your mod. Another thing that would be useful to keep working if its possible.

Out of curiosity, is this still an issue w/ v2.1+? #2 suggested this may have been resolved as a result of that fix. Thanks!

@alexstrout I just installed a dedi with UTComp 1.7a and the HUD is like without WSfix installed, I will try seeing if I can modify the above suggestions for Onslaught and report back how that looks.

My guess is the custom UTComp HUD classes would need to incorporate the fixes - either by being adjusted to extend the wide HUDs instead of the standard UT ones, or by being patched in a similar way to the vanilla HUDs. (which was... messy. lol)

I haven't looked at the HUD code for UTComp or 3Spn yet though (assuming it's available), so it's tough to judge at the moment...

@alexstrout https://github.com/Deaod/UTComp Best I can find so far, seems to be a fairly recently updated version of UTComp, but I assume the HUD bits are all rather similar to 1.7a release. (The original source for 1.7a seems lost to time)

Any update on this? Would love to play on some UTComp servers with a decent HUD.

Adding the line from the WideHUDMap line from the starter post doesn't work for me (even with UTComp installed locally). The server is also using v17a, so I'm not sure why the HUD doesn't get replaced.

Wow, it's been over a year! I apologize, I did not intend to let this sit this long.

Given the popularity of UTComp, I'd still like to support this, but it's unlikely at this point that I'll get around to it. Anyone who'd like to take a shot at this is more than welcome - I'll try to assist how I can. The easiest route is likely applying the same replacements detailed in the "include" files (see the comments at the top of each) and then altering the HUD to extend off the foxWSFix HUDs instead of the vanilla ones (to inherit the other fixes).
