@gegoune I've added support for this in the extensions already defined here, so the symbols-outline would have to be taken in a separate PR. Probably something that could be added to vista as well, but at least for now the actual buffer normal should support the alternative color.

Feel free to take it for a spin. I'll leave this open for a little bit just so I can use it in my normal workflow at work tomorrow to see if there's anything missing (or wrong) here.
