Constraint on creating assemblies with different aliases but same descriptions #397

Can we please change the constraint blocking duplicate assembly names, provided that the Alias is different for each one. What do you think?

See this link: http://dev.melbourne.wcewm.co.nz/Assembly/admin?standard_id=8

I have created an assembly called: Description: Crossarm Assembly HV Intermediate - Wood Pole; Alias: Figure 1 - HV Intermediate Wood Pole Crossarm Assembly

I am trying to create a second assembly called: Description: Crossarm Assembly HV Intermediate - Wood Pole; Alias: Figure 2 - 11/22kV Intermediate Wood Pole Subsidiary Crossarm Assembly

As you can see, the description is the same but the Alias is different.

As previously discussed, I don't believe this is logical.

The description alone should be able to distinguish the choice. The purpose of Alias is an "Alternative name" and should not be used as part of the primary key I believe.

Please close if you agree or call to discuss otherwise
