When inline translation is turned on and you copy some translated/translatable content, its possible to copy the zero with joiner (ZWJ) characters.

If they are copied into the translated text and saved then you do not see the inline translation icon for that translated content.
The only way to edit the translation is from the "Manage translations" report. When you remove the ZWJ characters and save the changes, the inline translation icon is shown again for that content.
