FYI I installed this using yo. Is there a way to install directly from github? I feel like I saw that somewhere.
EDIT: This is interesting. When running the server, I can see the web page, and /api/things gives a 200, but look at the delay times: they are the same as the interval I refreshed the page, except delayed by one refresh:

Hm... I think it's a problem with the DB... going to close this for now, will reopen if I find something new related to this
I had this issue as well. If I run mongod it works. However a friend of mine does not have to run mongod and his works fine.. we used the exact same yeomon generator. Any insight is appreciated. Thanks.
Your friend might be using a remote URI to connect to a hosted database in his config file.
@rwuebker could you please tell me how I can do: "If I run mongod it works" Thanks ;)
Both of the server side tests are failing when I run this in a docker container with the most updated version of docker. Additionally, when I type things into the home page, they don't seem to show up. Here is the output:
I'm using Ubuntu 14.04, docker v1.2.0. Also, here's the output from the yeoman contributing command:
Is there a fix for this or you think it's a problem with the socket.io / docker interaction?
