Update fails if author name string statement has 2 or more series ordinal qualifiers #178

Ran into this with a "J. Chen" with series ordinal values of both 467 and 468. Error message on update was not useful, had to narrow down the cause which took some time. Not sure what's best to do here, but some indication of a problem with the statements is needed!
