The Getlocations project enables you to add maps to content. There is a field module that can add a map to a content type and The Views module can display locative data in pages or blocks. Getlocations supports Google maps a well as Leaflet maps.
This project can currently be obtained on https://github.com/backdrop-contrib/getlocations set branch to 1.x-1.x to get the Backdrop version

Install this module using the official Backdrop CMS instructions at https://backdropcms.org/guide/modules
Visit the configuration page under Administration > Configuration > Web Services > Getlocations (admin/config/services/getlocations) and enter the required information.
Once the base is configured you can add any desired submodules.
