... basically RB3 brings python3 requirements.

The plugin needs updates to make it work.

The install routine needs to be updated to give the option to install an rb2 or rb3 version.

I've made some quick fixes. Have a look through these. If you are happy, we can push this to master

That looks nice, and thanks, really amazing work you do to keep the plugin compatible with both RB 2 and 3!

I can confirm that there are no apparent issues in running it with RB 2.97. I've merged it into the master!
