Applications not showing up for review by Show Committe #73

Hi folks,

We have a discrepancy between people who have paid their application fee and people who have submitted an application. I want to make sure this delta is an artifact of user action (or inaction) rather than a problem with the site.

Looking at BrownPaper Tickets I can see we have seven people who have paid application fees thus far. They are (Last, First, Email, BPT Barcode)

  1. Blodgett Sarah sarahkblodgett@yahoo.com ZFDP2GWXAF
  2. Cornell-Pape Christy delerium@comcast.net BFJI66MN6A
  3. Deck Holly sarahlynnecronin@gmail.com SPJRQURAVX
  4. Grenade Greta aeroplaneyes@gmail.com WQEJVXA3FF
  5. Snapper Red pamdrew79@hotmail.com MIDML64BN3
  6. Tapscott Victoria caramel@caramelknowledgeburlesque.info JLNDTKNEMS
  7. Tonge Vikki tongevictoria@yahoo.com K2QEXXMVC2

The first four all appear in the list of submitted acts, and, as I recall, these were the four we massaged by hand the last time we tackled this problem.

The last three (Snapper, Tapscott, and Tonge) do not appear on the list of completed, paid act submissions.

There are two possible explanations for this:

1) The performers paid their application fees but haven't submitted their acts. 2) Something is wrong with the system

I'm inclined to believe it's #2.

Betty can you verify whether or not Red Snapper, Victoria Tapscott, and/or Vikki Tonge have submitted completed applications?

Marcus can you take a look at the hand-off from BPT back to us. Something is falling down somewhere, and I just don't know where.

Thanks guys,

-=Scratch

I only seem to be able to assign this to one person. I assigned it to Betty, but you could re-assign it to Marcus if appropriate.

Scratch and Betty,

I am seeing all seven transactions come through from BPT. This is shown by going to Transactions and clicking on the Ticket Item (450851-2540412) on the GBE website.

Here’s a review of act submissions on the website:

Blodgett Sarah – Paid and Submitted Cornell-Pape Christy – Paid and Submitted Deck Holly – Paid and Submitted Grenade Greta – Paid under aeroplaneyes@gmail.com, no record of any act submission Snapper Red – Used different email when paying: Act was submitted under msredsnapper@gmail.com, paid under pamdrew79@hotmail.com
Tapscott Victoria - Used different email when paying: Act was submitted under caramel@caramelknowledgeburlesque.info, paid under missusc97@aol.com Tonge Vikki tongevictoria@yahoo.com – Paid and Submitted

In short, we are having a real problem with people submitting email addresses that have no relation to their user accounts, and our website doesn’t know how to assign them internally.

We need to come up with a different workflow for how we relate users to what they have paid, keeping in mind that the information we get from Brown Paper Tickets includes the ticket type ordered, name and address, time of purchase, email, phone number, and the ticket number (confirmation number).

We also need to contact Greta Grenade and see if she submitted, or kindly ask her to resubmit. (I hate asking that as well.)

Let’s try and talk soon to discuss better workflow ideas, otherwise we’ll have a real mess on our hands when people start paying for admission.

I totally agree. I'm likely to be working late tonight but could cover a call anytime after 5:30 EST - if I am not at my cell, try 617-973-5957 - I work in a space w no cell access

I think we've got it this time. 1+ week and no recurrence of this issue. Worked in test, running on site.
