"/" is a valid character for a URL. It should work. Which link are you referring to?
They were valid for a url, but they weren't valid for those urls

The links I've provided don't work due to the inclusion of / in the middle of the wma tools directory name I think. Any solutions? I don't know enough about markdown to have intuitions about this.
