If it's dead I was thinking about creating a new solution where you can also see the history of brand colors or / and contribute the brand colors by your own directly.

I was thinking about a simple open-source project where the contributions where done using PRs.

I like the idea however I think this limits the contribution to people on GitHub. With a simple open source website where people can contribute colors we could build the largest dataset for company colors.

Hey @rubenrua @LarsFlieger, the project took a bit of backseat but been slowly getting back to building it up again.

The current plan is to hire someone and add new brands (from different sources). Another thing, I'm struggling with is if I should add all brands (that gets requested here on github) or only add the ones. For example, a lot of people are requesting new sites (mostly their own sites) and after a year or so they are not active anymore.

Any thoughts / suggestions are more then welcome :).

I think this depends on the goal of the project. If you want to create a database like webarchive where you want to store everything. You should allow the most contributed colors. However I think the "design" of the page has to change than. (Put populars first, allow search by domain....)

On the current design we should only allow brands which has a certain level of knowledge. We could go with something like alexa rank of the domains or if they are somewhere on Wikipedia.

Another problem is that colors change overtime:

• Do you want to only display the current color? (or a history)
• How can user easily report that a certain color is outdated?
