For recordings, do we want/need all presentations to use the same layout? (So far we have not required uniformity.) If so, which layout do we prefer?
Possible layouts that seem feasible:
Full-screen slides, no presenter video
Full-screen slides, presenter video in corner (via Zoom, for example)
Reduced size slides with presenter video to the side, not overlapping slides (via Zoom)
I've seen others who produce videos where the speaker is overlaid on the slides as if in front of a green screen. I think this can be done with Zoom in a special mode that uses the slides as the background.
Advantages and disadvantages:
Does the presenter video humanize things? Not sure.
Video over slide can obscure slide content. With the green screen approach there was a way to move the presenter around the screen, but that requires attention during the recording.
With the video off to the side, no slide content is obscured, but the slide content is smaller
