Hi Everyone,

Apologies for the unsolicited mentions, hopefully it's cool. If not, you can choose "Ignoring" under the watch button above if you're not interested.

I wanted to reach out to people in this conversation who expressed interest in the Portland, OR OSM building import and those involved in another effort that is currently on hold.

In an effort to learn more about the OSM import process, this repository kind of snowballed into a full-fledged project and the pdxbldgimport project was super helpful along the way. I'd like to see how people feel about consolidating the efforts or picking up the work in this repository. I'm also happy to transfer this repository to the existing organization if need be.

In short, I would love to work with you all to help push this project forward! I'm relatively new to the OSM community; unfamiliar with many of the conventions and processes, so having the blessing and help of the local community would be fantastic.

If you're interested, I can add you as an organization member or simply invite you as a collaborator.

P.S. Happy to elaborate on the project status. Let me know if you have any questions or comments.

Thanks!

Crazy timing. Is this open to everyone?

geografa commented 9 years ago

@Caged sure is. I just realized this, too. I'll likely head down there.

Nice. I'll come by as well.

Update: we're going to continue working on the existing project and I'll try to send pull requests over there for some relevant chunks of work here.
