@ambrower could i ask you to disable temporary the ios peloton workaround? in this way i will be able to have a deep look at the communication from-to zwift. So send me again a log with Zwift disconnection issue and i will be able to tell you more.
For HR: it's possibile that you changed the battery on it or pair/unpair it from the iphone? if so, just disable the heart rate belt setting in QZ, press ok, restart it, then readd it again. I guess it's just a bluetooth cache issue.
Let me know

Here's a new debug log with iOS peloton workaround disabled. this morning, Zwift wouldn't find qz at all.
I did confirm that my Mac saw my iPhone connected by BT, but my iPhone continued to cycle between connecting and disconnecting from my Mac. in any case, and after about 5 min, Zwift did not find the iPhone at all.
qz is still not finding or reading my HR monitor. it also is not listed as a device under the HR label in qz. the iPhone does list it as paired by BT.
Thanks again for your help

@ambrower i checked your last log and as you said, there is no connection incoming from zwift here. Probably because your zwift device has some cache about the bluetooth connection from your QZ device. When you say that the iphone is connected to your mac, you're meaning the bluetooth icon in the mac? Please be sure that the iphone is completely unpaired from your mac in the bluetooth settings. It's the only way to clear the cache (and it has to be in this way if you want to use it with zwift)
For the heart rate: also for this you need to unpair the HR from the bluetooth settings of the iphone. Then restart QZ and you will see it in the drop down list in the settings.

OK, thanks. if I understand what you’re saying, I shouldn’t have the iphone and mac paired using BT, and let qz and zwift drive the pairing themselves. I’ll try that after work today and let you know.

@ambrower i used zwift 6 hours ago and it was perfect. who did you told this?
I got more info and what changed is the echelon tablet firmware. So glad to hear it’s nothing that impacts qz.
This guy though was able to get the peloton app loaded onto his echelon tablet. He’s next going to try getting zwift onto his tablet.
Thanks for following up with me.

Hi again, Roberto. Zwift is no longer finding qz for power/controllable power. It finds cadence and HR right away. I’ve already tried unpairing everything from BT to start fresh, but still not working. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Again, thanks.
If you don’t mind giving me a bit of a primer…
I noticed that when qz connects by BT to my bike and HR monitor, both of those devices are listed under the iphone BT list of connected devices, but no information bubble appears with them—there’s no “i” bubble next to the device that gives me the option to view information on those devices. Is that normal, and due to the fact that the bike and HR monitor are connected through qz vs. connected directly to the iphone?

Hi Roberto. I’m sorry to bother you directly if this isn’t the way you prefer to be contacted. If there’s a better way, please let me know. Qz, by the way, is working great on my old setup: qz on iphone reading my echelon ex4s+ bike and connected to zwift on my macbook air.
Yesterday, I bought the android version of qz and sideloaded it (and other apps) on the echelon bike’s tablet, which runs Android 9. The instructions were in this thread (summarized in post #355), and all worked great. (I noticed you replied on that thread so you’re probably aware of it.):
This morning I tried running qz on the android tablet and zwift on my mac. Qz read my echelon bike and my hr monitor correctly. The problem is that zwift seems to see qz on the tablet, but no readings are picked up by zwift. Also, zwift alternates between “no signal” and no readings.
I’m hoping the solution is a setting somewhere and you’ll be able to help me pretty easily. I copied all settings from the version of qz that was on my iphone, and maybe there’s something different that’s needed because this is an android device.
Thanks, Roberto, for your help.

so unfortunately the tablet doesn't have the minimum capability to do the bridge over bluetooth. where are you running zwift?

I’m running zwift on my macbook air. The tablet’s chipset is rk3288. Model and hardware says: rk3288_mtb818

same model can have different bluetooth chips unfortunately.
is the macbook an m1? or a classic one? i'm asking because you can use qz directly there using wahoo dircon with qz on the same device
Here’s a screenshot of my mac; you’ll have to tell me whether it’s current enough to do what you’re asking! [Graphical user interface Description automatically generated]
BT has been really solid on this tablet, so I’m surprised to hear it’s a hardware problem. I wonder if I set something wrong from the iphone version. Is there a “factory reset” that I can do on qz?

i don't see the image, you have to attach it directly on github
for the tablet i don't say it's an hardware fault but an hardware limitation. some bluetooth chips simply doesn't have the capabilities to do the bridge. if you want try a hard reset but i don't think it will help
Here are my mac’s parameters: MacBook Air (Retina, 13-inch, 2018) Processor 1.6 GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i5 Memory 16 GB 2133 MH LPDDR3 Graphics Intel UHD Graphics 617 1536 MB
I hope that helps on letting me know what my other options are.
I have done a hard reset on the tablet and you’re right that nothing’s changed. Any way to do some kind of scan to see what the BT chip is?

no the scan doesn't worth the time, i mean there is nothing that we can do there.
i will release the mac version soon of qz ( maybe this weekend so then you can use it)
ping me the next week or follow the github page ;)
One more question—and again, thank you for being incredibly responsive: I see no difference when I enable or disable the “relax BT for mad devices”. In both cases, qz seems to drop the BT connection momentarily at about 30 seconds, and the picks it up again. Then it doesn’t seem to drop it again. What does the “relax BT/mad devices” setting do?

Sorry, one more question! One cheap alternative to the tablet on the echelon is to replace it with a mini windows-based cpu attached to a touchscreen monitor. Does qz run on windows? (I guess my question is whether windows and android are the same OS or completely different?). Thanks.

that setting is quite useless, it just doesn't restart a low level bluetooth in case of error
@ambrower yes qz runs on windows! there is already the installer in the homepage of github!
Thank you. And for the response to my other question re. BT and “mad devices”

Hi Roberto. Two questions:
First, mac-qz found my bike and displayed readings, but zwift can’t find qz. Are there a settings I should set?
Second, my mac doesn’t recognize you as a trusted developer, so I have to manually override security when I load mac-qz. Are you planning to submit to apple so they can verify you and then all will be ok?
Thanks. And if there’s a user group with answers to these questions, please refer me to them.
Aaron

@ambrower mmm no it should find it directly using wahoo direct connect. be sure that this setting is enabled in the experimental settings (should be by default)
yes i know about the trusted developer, the process of submitting an application to apple store for max could be tricky so i will leave this way for now
you can open a new discussion here in github if you have any issues, this is the right place
Here’s the situation now: qz is reading my bike as “ECHEX-4s-15-025942”, and zwift sees “wahoo kickr 0000 33”, but no power readings are picked up by zwift. The cadence reading is coming through all right using “wahoo kickr 0000 33”. Zwift sees “wahoo kickr 0000 33” but only gets readings from my HR directly (Powercal Duo 27).
Any ideas? Thanks.

@ambrower could you please download this app https://apps.apple.com/us/app/discovery-dns-sd-browser/id1381004916?mt=12 and, with qz opened and connected to your bike, send a screenshot about the DIRCON section on the app (discovery dns sd browser)? Thanks
I've attached several debug logs from this morning. qz finds my bike right away, and Zwift sees my iPhone as the power source, controllable, HR, and cadence. But the first issue is that there are no readings at all within Zwift: no power, no HR, no cadence. The second issue is that qz doesn't report HR from my HR monitor.
This is an intermittent problem: Zwift will sometimes report readings from qz. qz will also sometimes read my HR monitor (though not at all today). I've attached several debug logs so you can see this morning's session. You'll see
Here's my set up:
One last thing: after I ended my Zwift session, to see whether everything paired within the echelon environment, I exited qz and connected to the echelon app on the built-in monitor. The bike connected just fine and all metrics were displayed, including eventually pairing with my HR monitor. It took about a min to find the HR monitor, but it did eventually pair.
Thank you for your help! I really appreciate it.
