Make subdirectory sv_SE/ in Langs/ dir and put files there. Start PCSX2 and
choose Clear settings

You made some mistakes: you don't need to translate those
!ContextTip:ChangingNTFS, etc, you need to translate the linked message. Go
into Catalog -. Settings -> Path -> and put the path to the trunk directory of
the PCSX2 sources. Now, you can see linked source files.

Most of those warnings are irrelevant. Ignore them.
The errors are caused because you need to type into PoEdit the location of your
SVN repository, which in your case is "C:\Arkiv\PCSX2\SVN\"
I'm pretty sure I uploaded a picture of it in the wiki. I'll try to clarify
the Wiki if I get a chance.

Recomendations
--------------
1
Use "Cancel" instead of "cancel" in "pcsx2/gui/Panels/BiosSelectorPanel.cpp"
line 128,
and in "pcsx2/gui/Panels/PluginSelectorPanel.cpp" line 461.
2
In "pcsx2/gui/Panels/MemoryCardListPanel.cpp" line 366,
instead of using "This will copy the contents of the memory card in slot %u
over the memory card in slot %u. ",
use "This will copy the contents of the memory card in slot %u and overwrite
the memory card in slot %u with it. "
3
In 2pcsx2/x86/sVU_zerorec.cpp" line 363,
instead of using "Out of Memory (sorta): The SuperVU recompiler was unable to
reserve the specific memory ",
use "Out of Memory (sorta): The superVU recompiler was unable to reserve the
specific memory ".
If "sVU" is short for "superVU", then the name ought to be "superVU", and not
"SuperVU", to avoid confusions.
4
The "Configure..." string is missing (implied in i915).
I guess it should be added in the Main file.
Inquiry
-------
1
Clearify "Core Settings" in "!Panel:Usermode:Explained" -
"pcsx2/gui/Panels/MiscPanelStuff.cpp" line 38.
2
Clearify "Host Settings" in "!Notice:Recompiler:VirtualMemoryAlloc" -
"pcsx2/System.cpp" line 118.
3
In the Main file, is the string "Dev/Verbose".
3a
Is "Dev" short for "Device" or "Developer"?
3b

gregory, I made some testing:
with a finn-swedish windows installation PCSX2 does not recognize swedish as
the system default language if the folder is named "sv_SE", but things work
fine if the folder is named "sv_FI".
Finn-swedish is exactly the same as regular-swedish in text.
Can you make a fix for this?

The 2 configstrings didn't work because of this:
#~ msgid ""
#~ "For troubleshooting potential bugs in the MTGS only, as it is potentially "
#~ "very slow."
#~ msgstr ""
#~ "Enbart för att problemlösa eventuella fel inom MTGS, \n"
#~ "eftersom det möjligen är mycket långsamt."
#~ msgid ""
#~ "Completely disables all GS plugin activity; ideal for benchmarking EEcore "
#~ "components."
#~ msgstr ""
#~ "Förhindrar helt all GS-insticksprogramsaktivitet; \n"
#~ "idealt som utgångspunkt för EE-kärnkomponenter."
Removing this makes the strings work with PCSX2 again, though not with Poedit.

First be sure to use the branch version and not the trunk. Do not rely on any
website that provide snapshot of the trunk like emucr.
Here the command on linux (but tortoise svn must be quite similar)
svn checkout http://pcsx2.googlecode.com/svn/branches/0.9.8 0.9.8-read-only
Then are you sure to use the good pot file. In mine it does not have the
"*!Panel:Presets:Name:*" string.
This one is not present, it is only for dev.
#: pcsx2/gui/Panels/VideoPanel.cpp:159
What do you mean by obsolete ? fuzzy? Be sure to use latest poedit version.
Normally you do not need to update the catalog. The pot are aligned on the
latest version. The po in svn too.

1
Using "http://pcsx2.googlecode.com/svn/branches/0.9.8" makes no difference.
2
The "*!Panel:Presets:Name:*" strings must have been remnants, however updating
the catalog did not remove them; I had to do it manually.
3
Since the "#: pcsx2/gui/Panels/VideoPanel.cpp:159" string doesn't appear to do
any harm, I will keep including and translating it.
4
"What do you mean by obsolete?" - well, it's usually not me (issue 2) but
Poedit that finds strings obsolete.

I am using the latest version of Poedit - 110402.
Overall i'm pleased with the current translation.
How about you?

3. There is a string for dev (line 159) and a string for user (line 162). The
line 159 will not be translated anyway because the code does not ask for a
translation. Besides, it will probably be removed when I update/compile for the
release.
4.5. I made a quick test with your latest po and poedit. I do not have any
issue with obsolete (except the point 3)
Me too I'm satisfied. Near all strings are already translated in several
languages.

Gregory: it seems that your fixes for Linux
is messing up the translation for Windows.
Entries in the Main file are ignored,
but if they are copied to the Tertiary file things work fine.
This can possibly be solved by merging the four translation files into one.
Can it be tested?
Or is there a special reason to why there is four files?
Original comment by pg...@yahoo.se
on 4 Jun 2011 at 3:10
which fixes and which version exactly ? Did you try regenerate the pot ? The
idea of the 4 files was to separate the priorities.
Anyway, I merge everything into 2 files see pot in r4710. However I'm afraid
that new pot will break current translation (well maybe a copy/paste can
improve it). Tell me if it is better this way.
Original comment by gregory....@gmail.com
on 4 Jun 2011 at 3:58
Im only assuming.
Since I can't figure out how it work, I get confused.
However, I tried r4713 and haven't noticed any differnce what so ever.
My suggestion of merging the files is more intended for the next release,
although support for a one file system is desired now (whenever you have time).

Note: you must remove any left-overs of pcsx2_tertiary and pcsx2_Devel (po, mo,
pot etc). PCSX2 will still load them if they exists. I will remove it later.
The warning about missing translation mo are expected.
Yes I only change the next releast (aka trunk), I want to keep 2 files. Because
