You need to update your pot files by changing the path in poedit to match your
/trunk directory. Then just select "update catalog" in poedit.
That should find you the new strings you're missing right now.

@rama
I know how to work with PoEdit. Tho, I hate the whole retarded gettext system.
It sucks.

============
@issue

Jake, if you are even planning to add entries for logs msgs - please don't.
Save your time and save the forums from nationalized error msgs (a mess).

a missing entry called "Please select a valid plugin for the GS." when GS
plugin is missing during First Time Wizard and you click next.

I suppose it would be "Please select a valid plugin for the %s."

BIOS formatting should be fixed now in r4160. It was still left over from the
days before I introduced word wrapping.

Note that some places I use \n\n to denote *paragraph breaks* -- \n\n should
typically be retained in translation, since they aren't word wraps but rather
actual paragraph separations. I could split each paragraph into a gettext
item, though I doubt there's any advantage to that.

There are still some issue left:

1. "Browse" in the Wizard/Folder settings can't be translated
2. "Configure" (plugins) can't be translated.
3. There is no "< Back" in the Main. There is "&Back >". ???
4. Failed to find where "Home" are used.
5. See attached imgs.

The translation of Back button I tested work but hadn't been included in the
POT r4152.

#: The Back button in First-Time Wizard
msgid "< &Back"
msgstr "< 上一步"

There are definition of "&Back >" and "&Back" in the main POT, but they don't
work for Back button.

Problem in Error Dialog when opening a problematic ELF file

For testing purpose, I manually created a fake elf file by renaming an empty
txt file.

It's in main POT, the translation for "If loading from an ISO image, this error
may be caused by an unsupported ISO image type or bug in PCSX2 ISO image
support." can't display full text in dialog, some words at the beginning of
translation is unexposed. And the space in the middle of dialog(see screenshot)
is too high than normal.

Anyways, my current workaround is adding \n behind commas and I found it later
that is the preferred appearance of that dialog in my translation.

Found 19 messages not available to be translated. See example image attached.

This problem is solved by adding "pxLt" and "_t" to the PO keywords list, which
is not currently available in any of the 4 files. Don't know which file(s)
should have these keywords, though.

Oh no! Lately I found abnormal blank space taller than normal compared to
corresponding English panel of "Config -> Memory cards" and "Config ->
Emulation Settings"

I depict the abnormal tall blank space in screenshot.

Screenshot of "Config -> Emulation Settings"(Other TABs are also scaled up and
left additional blank space):

.4152-tall-blank-space-in-Config_Memory-cards.png

I tested problem found in r4178 and it seemed only occurred in my translation
zh_TW, other latest translations I tested(de_DE, pt_BR, ru_RU, sv_SE) don't
have this problem, zh_CN only has this problem in the panel of "Config ->
Emulation Settings".

I tested no problem in r4165, it's a problem as of r4166. Though the version
number of pcsx2 executable is the same between r4165 and r4166.

The newly (now r4182) added preset slider, in Emulation Settings, seems to have
all 6 options and its name with the same msgid "!Panel:". If one translates
this, all these options and name will be translated the same. I guess set
differents msgid would solve it.

Continues the problem reported at comment #23.

In speed hacks panel. the red description text under the slider of EE Cyclerate
and VU Cycle Stealing doesn't change accordingly, after put the slider there
into different level other than default. this problem even occurred in the
English (U.S.) GUI.

Both problems are solved.

For the sub issue at comment #24.
It is no longer that msgid "!Panel:" represents for all 6 options, by looking
into the changes of AppConfig.cpp in the page of r4201. (Clicking the plus sign
in front of each row of affected files)

For the sub issue at comment #26, #27.
I compiled r4203 and confirmed it was fiexed.

far.

@gregory same for me in Archlinux. It seems this browse button uses windows

I don't get it.
If the Konfig strings are in the po of r4378, the why won't they show up when I
update the files?
And if I would use the r4378 files, then I would have to update those anyway,
which would result in deletion of the 2 strings - yes?

Original comment by pg...@yahoo.se on 5 Mar 2011 at 5:04

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
I'm not sure how is must work. Currently I generate the pot for 1 version (here
4378). Then the translation (po) is aligned to pot. If a dev change the string
(or whatever) it would not work anymore. Generally in open-source they make a
string-freeze so translator can do their jobs.

I create a script on linux to regenerate the pot and to update the po
(generate_pot.sh). You can use it if you want to work on latest release. I
think poedit can do it, but I need to update my script to add some poedit
metadata in the pot.

Which pot version? Which po version? Which locale? Which pcsx2 revision? Where
are your missing strings?

On my side, GS panel is properly translated with zh_SG.utf8 (rev4413 for

The question is if you have updated your catalog to this revision.

Original comment by pg...@yahoo.se on 12 Mar 2011 at 8:18

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
I keep the svn pot version. However when I compile I do
1/ msgmerge --update -s po pot
2/ msgfmt -o mo po

Are the string present in your pcsx2_Tertiary.po files ? Check that the format
is the same as the pot of svn. Do not hesitate to send me your po file so I can
give them a look.
