[CAL-1713] Ability to create one-off meetings #12571

Open PeerRich opened 9 months ago

PeerRich commented 9 months ago

The ability to quickly create one-off appointments with custom titles, locations, descriptions, time slots, etc. would be awesome.

Feel free to check out Calendly for inspiration. But it would be great if you could develop a more sophisticated solution than the one from Calendly. :)

this might be connected to the idea of a "meeting survey" (#12710) just like at calendly. When I look at the designs, it would be nice to have a "unique" link generated, that I can share with as many people as I like.

Or am I wrong here?

This would be an amazing feature! I am personally missing one thing from the Calendly implementation: the ability to customize or remove the booking questions. I don't want to put the burden of filling out contact information on my customers, but it's not possible to remove these questions nor to pre-fill them.

This is, in my opinion, a key difference between traditional availability-based events and these one-off meetings. For availability-based events you might not know who would like to schedule a meeting with you, so it makes sense to ask for a name and email address. One-off meetings are often directed at a specific person. You don't want to bother them with filling out their contact information.

@daanlenaerts you can prefill questions currently on any cal.com event types url. https://cal.com/docs/core-features/bookings/prefill-fields

@Udit-takkar Oh I see, that would definitely solve this issue for me. Thank you very much, I'm really looking forward to the ability to create one-off meetings. It's been the one thing holding me back from using Cal for a long time.

This would be an amazing feature that will also bring feature-parity with Calendly. I'm looking forward for this, and I hope it can get released in v4.5, as it seems it already slipped a few releases.

One thing I'd like to have is not just have fixed lengths, but if I click and drag I can set multiple lengths. Sometimes I want to schedule time with someone, but depending on when I will be able to give more or less time to them.
