Describe the bug Scan add provides cryptic error message to someone who is already signed up for an event

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Sign up for an event
  2. Attend event with attendance scanner set up
  3. Sign in to event using attendance scanner

Expected behavior Error messages should be specific to sign up
