tips is a tip calculator application for iOS.

User Stories
The following required functionality is complete:
- [X] User can enter a bill amount, choose a tip percentage, and see the tip and total values.
The following optional features are implemented:
- [X] Settings page to change the default tip percentage.
- [ ] UI animations
- [ ] Remembering the bill amount across app restarts (if <10mins)
- [X] Using locale-specific currency and currency thousands separators.
- [ ] Making sure the keyboard is always visible and the bill amount is always the first responder. This way the user doesn't have to tap anywhere to use this app. Just launch the app and start typing.
The following additional features are implemented:
- added a slider to the home page for custom tip percentage
- added a launch screen with personalized logo
- added app icons

Notes
I had absolutely no experience with Swift or coding in general, as this was my first attempt at coding. It took me several hours to get the basic calculator down and to figure out what each word did or didn't do. I spent a lot of time on other websites looking at tutorials to better understand how the app is supposed to work. The most difficult part was getting the slider to change the tip amount ($) that corresponded to the slider's position. After countelss hours and having to restart completely from scratch, I was able to bypass the issue. All in all, this was a great learning experience.
