Check before uploading an add-on

Your add-on will be running on Android/iOS/macOS/Windows, to enable maximum compatibility, please ensure that

  1. files names referenced in models, ssc, dsc files, etc are exactly the same as the actual file names (some file systems are case sensitive. For example if in your .ssc there is Mesh "Progress.cmod", then the file name should be exactly Progress.cmod not progress.cmod).
  2. Textures should have width/height of power of 2 (for example: 1024 512, a texture of 1000 500 will not work on many mobile devices).

Example:

Title: HD 189733 b Description: Three textures for the exoplanet HD 189733 b, including a true-color fictional texture and two temperature maps. Proposed category: Exoplanets Demo Object Name: HD 189733 b Author(s): SevenSpheres (credit to: NASA, Askaniy, Eric Anderson, Andrew Tribick, nussun) Release date: 2020-10-16 Link to download: hd189733.zip Image:

Good, let's do that. Maybe you can get a template ready for submissions? For every add-on there should be title, description, authors, release date. Optionally, localized title/description and image. I'll change the link to redirect to this issue.

levinli303 commented 2 years ago

@DaveBowman2001 great, I've made them available now.

there is issue with the ISS add-on on iOS, though. It is very likely that the naming in the .ssc and the actual file naming are not matched, since on iOS the filesystem is case sensitive. The Mars Pathfinder add-on has the same problem but it was easier to fix I fixed it for you. IMG_4688

DaveBowman2001 commented 2 years ago

That's odd....not even a single Soyuz/Progress appeared....I'll look into it for iOS releases. Thanks!

@DaveBowman2001 I think have updated the new file, can you try uninstalling and installing back again? Also please check the top of the thread. I made some changes: Demo Object Name/What makes a good compatible add-on

DaveBowman2001 commented 2 years ago

Hello @levinli303, unfortunately the current download link still uses the older problematic SSC file (the screenshot below was taken moments after downloading it again): Screenshot_20211228-213124 The old SSC file was dated 2021-Dec-26, 11:50 (UTC+8), while the supposed new one was finished 12 hours later, 2021-Dec-26, 23:49 (UTC+8)

No matter, this is the new zip re-uploaded to my drive....hopefully this works: Cassini-Huygens (update).zip

My apologies for the troubles caused by this mod

EDIT: I can confirm the download link for Cassini-Huygens is fixed now! Thank you very much! Screenshot_20211229-085639 Screenshot_20211229-085311
