A map pool where 13 out of 13 maps are available is too much to consistently prepare for. Many maps are considered to be competitively unplayable due to balancing issues, I propose moving to the HGC map pool, and Map pick or First Pick going to the loser of Game 1.
Maps available for play,
Tomb of the Spider Queen
Warhead Junction
Braxxis Holdout
Dragon Shire
Cursed Hollow
Towers of Doom
Sky Temple
Battlefield of Eternity
Infernal Shrines
This is 9 out of 13 maps, 70% of the total pool, and based on my experience from previous seasons the most commonly played maps across all leagues. In addition to establishing a Map Pool, each team should be given the opportunity to ban 1 map prior to the battleground being selected.
This will add at most 2-3 min to each match, a necessary addition for a more competitive experience.
