Curatorial Note Topic #63

As discussed in #32, we are wondering if the Curatorial Note pattern should include a Curatorial Note Topic statement. We think this new statement might be even more relevant when we will develop/deploy the Object Facet.

In order to do so, we think the best option would be to attach an E55_Type to the E33_Linguistic_Object through a P67_refers_to property:

We do not think that P129_is_about would be a good choice here since the E33_Linguistic_Object is not "about" the topic per se.

At first sight, a metatype is not necessary here since this new statement is not used in our model currently. However, for sake of clarity, it might be relevant to add a metatype to better identify the purpose of this E55_Type:

Two questions:

  1. Do we need this pattern?
  2. If yes, what would be the best approach?

The list of the Getty could be useful for the topic of the Curatorial Note: http://www.getty.edu/vow/AATHierarchy?find=description&logic=AND&note=&subjectid=300435413

In the case of information provided to CHIN that is structured but not present in the Target Model, would it be possible to use the Curatorial Note pattern to document such information as a string, and use the Curatorial Note Topic node to document the subject of this information?

This could guide CHIN in the identification of the missing patterns that would be useful for its stakeholders. As such, the use of the Curatorial Note Topic by several stakeholders could lead to the creation of new relevant patterns.
