The Site generation lasts very long. See https://www.mkyong.com/maven/maven-site-build-is-very-slow-dependency-report/

Reduce online lookup by avoiding all unnecessary, especially snapshot repositories.
Avoid requesting snapshots
Avoid generating the dependencies report as mentioned in the blog entry, if this speeds up the site generation.

Site generation time accelerated by factor 4 by disabling the dependency location report. Also snapshot searching disabled for the external repositories. Solved in commit 1bb42cc3b891e5251fbbd9624d028b35ddbf13d0.
