Visualizing data as part of the exec dashboard effort.

From Paloma: Weekly Cumulative Totals from ROW:

• Permit requests received
• Permit requests issued
• Active permits
• TCP reviews requested
• TCP reviews completed

Ryan also tracking average TCP review time (business days), and longest TCP review time (business days).

I am meeting with Paloma and Darren in the next two weeks to learn more about trying to automate this.

DTS on background, project info: We’re working on putting together an executive dashboard for our executive team. What kind of data would you be interested in reporting, how can we gather the info, what’s the story we want to tell about it? What are your quality indicators and internal goals? Let’s put a spotlight on the work the ROW division does, and all the things you accomplish for the community. When/how you want to turn requests around, etc. Also, how deep and granular can we go? And what kind of frequency of reporting? Is there a chance for automation or refreshing on a daily basis for more real time data?

ROW team: We do share permitting metrics w/ Upal; metrics that would be useful:

• Accumulative total + current number of
  • Permit requests
  • Permits issued
  • Traffic control plan (TCP) submitted
  • TCP reviewed; time spent reviewing TCP
• CSR dashboard – number, volume
• Construction crash reports
• Vision Zero dashboard
• AMANDA – Paloma
  • Will be tricky to know what to pull from AMANDA
• KNACK, Utility coordination – Darren

I created a basic work-in-progress dashboard where we can make sure we are getting the data the data right. Paloma said she'd take a look today to see if the numbers align with what she gets out of AMANDA.

In my meeting with Darren last week, he pointed out two charts that currently exist in the TCP Knack that we should port to Power BI:

• Average Review Time by Month
• Total Submissions Submitted by Month
• Maybe: Total Submissions by Resubmittal (%)

I'll make a new issue to start the ETL to set up knack services to move data from the knack app to a socrata dataset.
