Assist Signs & Markings in Reporting on Signs in Fair or Better Condition #12066

Cathy and Lauren reached out to see if we could do a quick analysis for performance measures:

Current Performance Measures - FY23

  • Percent of school crosswalks maintained - That requires ArcGIS
  • Percent of Markings CSRs on times/Signs CSRs on time - 311 report emails
  • Percent of Signs CSRs on times/Signs CSRs on time - 311 report emails
  • Percent of signs in fair or better condition - This requires GIS  on the RAS data to identify the Signs in Fair or Better Condition.

They requested that we assist on the measure for Percent of Signs in Fair or Better Condition.

Susanne and I met on 4/19 and pulled the sign_assets in GISMAINT and the RAS Data Delivery R5 and noted to Cathy and Lauren that this would be a "draft" number because we are working with RAS on updating the sign conditions.

Lauren needed these numbers by tomorrow for her SSPR.

The calculated percentage of signs in fair or better condition = 99.5%

We know that this isn't accurate and are working with RAS to update the formula used to calculate sign condition.

In Lauren's last SSPR, we added a 5% buffer to signs in fair or better condition and communicated that to Lauren and Jim.

Messaged Lauren and Cathy:

Hey y'all! Susanne and I took a look at the signs in fair or better condition and what we're seeing from the "draft" RAS data is 99.5%. We know that this isn't accurate and in Lauren's last SSPR we added a 5% buffer and reported 95% signs in fair or better condition. We have a meeting scheduled with the Signs Supervisors, Kenny and Ramona to review a sample set of RAS data to assist them in updating the formula they used for sign condition. We plan to send the conditions we assess to RAS on Friday and RAS said they would immediately start updating conditions next week.
