Urban Forestry - Sync with PWD Regarding Tree Plotter

Meeting Notes:

• Tree plotter/Tree data
• Currently working on Schema alignment between Current Tree data and Tree Plotter
• Cleaning and populating tree data
• Identifying anomalies and outlayers
• Looking into null values
• Adding field from Tree plotter and calculating based on other fields
• Migration to Tree plotter
• Prepare data as shapefile or CSV then send to vendor
• Meeting Wednesday with Emily King to discuss where we are at with migration
• Potentially adding back Tree condition
• Adding back the condition of "Dead"
• Planit Geo produces Tree Plotter software
• Urban Forester is Emily King - in DSD Group - Job is to maintain all city trees
• PWD worked with DSD on purchase and use of tree plotter
• Goal is to plot trees and keep tree history after being mapped
• 5 year contract with Planit geo

• Jack is currently configuring the data cross walk from ArcGIS data to Tree Plotter data
• Emily & Alan from DSD will be primary POC for Tree Plotter as this effort is being led by them to standardize tree data collection efforts across all of COA.

QUESTION FOR FUTURE MEETINGS

• Will there be any requirement for future use of data in an ArcGIS Format? ie AGOL feature service data mart feature class
• are there any existing web applications or web map that will need to be converted over to newer software that are currently being used for data collection efforts?
• Will Urban Forestry require DTS to learn this new software or will DTS only be responsible for data crosswalks back to ESRI formats for sharing to the public?
• Will Urban Forestry be using new software regularly, and will DSD provide support or will DTS be required to provide support?

Notes from 6/28 Meeting:

• Acquired Tree Plotter Spring 2022 - 5 year subscription, 4 more years of contract, sponsor by DSD

• Designed specifically for trees as asset management system

• Looking to have implementation team on TPW side to support forestry

• Existing tree data uploaded to TreePlotter By early August

• DSD has people funded to support migration

• Not a maintenance and operation program - support maintenance and operation team

• Becoming more of a priority to get tree data integrated

• PWD been cleaning data and evaluating data quality by end of June

• Work together with Bryan and Vendor to migrate data to Tree Plotter (early August is goal) Then pass off to TPW

• Once Plant it Geo Receives data should take about a week to upload

• Goal of project in long run TreePlotter integration with Maximo

• Next Steps:

• Conversation about database structure

• Database upload to TreePlotter

• Then meeting with Plantit Geo folks
