Question: Will this affect existing cost estimates (ie will the rates be updated on those) or will this change only apply to cost estimates created in DT after the update?

Because of the inventory project and need to keep legacy data accurate, we might need to spike and look into how to update Materials and Labor costs and keep prior years the same.

Create a spike for the discovery of this request - Reference AMD Data Tracker and the way we unit costs for inventory. Will need to use a similar method for this request. Set up a builder huddle with the apps team.

Hourly rate is set up in the conditional rule for in hourly rate field for invoice_items

Builder Huddle Findings:

• Need to create something similar to inventory_item_unit_costs (call it asset_item_unit_costs) for labor costs tracking
• RPP - they locked in the value. When an invoice was generated you can have a separate field to lock in the value.

Testing

• Created asset_item_unit_costs object
• Added fields:
  • UnitCostHistory_ID
  • Unit Costs
  • Employee Type
  • Status
  • Created Date
  • Display Name
  • Created new Hourly Rate field in the invoice_items
  • Need to finish testing but we determined that we want to move forward with structuring this similarly to AMD Data Tracker to prepare for inventory in the future.
