The discovery team is finalizing the Maximo Assessment Discovery Report by detailing what's working, the pain points, and the recommendations/opportunities that we have identified could improve the data quality and user experience for Street & Bridge staff. We anticipate having the report finalized and ready to share within the coming weeks.
We also plan to schedule a meeting with Reiner and team to share our findings and discuss the recommendations that they would like to see us implement moving forward into FY 2025.
DTS is researching Street and Bridge Operations’ work order and asset management platform to thoroughly assess its technical capabilities, data quality, user experience, and connected business processes.
Background
The Maximo work order and asset management system is used by the Street and Bridge Operations division to plan and manage their work. The system is used to streamline the workflow, facilitate communication, prioritize tasks, and ensure that work is completed efficiently and on time.
Objective
This Maximo Work Order System Discovery Project will provide a thorough understanding of the organizations' existing system, processes and requirements for the current use of the system. The discovery and assessment will identify opportunities for improvement of potential areas and new integration opportunities. The goal of this project is to identify and assess organizational knowledge and support collaboration between SBO and DTS. Maximo product management and operations collaboration that aligns SBO user needs with the department's goals, while driving efficiency and excellence in the services TPW provides to the community.
The SBO organization has been using the Maximo work order and asset management system for over nine years. The system is currently used to capture 311 service requests, planned maintenance and capital improvement project work for the traditional public works activities, street and sidewalk maintenance, emergency repair work, and transportation infrastructure improvement projects.

The deliverables for this project will be a comprehensive overview of the Maximo systems and processes, identify areas for improvement. offer actionable recommendations for enhancing quality, efficiency, productivity and alignment with organizational goals.
The schedule for the initial discovery for this project is expected to be completed within six weeks. Additional time is needed to develop a roadmap for future enhancements, upgrades and organizational recommendations.
