Mobile/Tablet Device Hardware Documentation Revamp

This project epic will catalog the issues to update hardware documentation for mobile devices such as cell phones & tablets to bring them up to date. Documentation will also be expanded to include improved materials for the below deliverables.

• Device Troubleshooting

Goals

1. To provide users with easy to understand & share documentation to be self-service
2. To ease the burden of knowledge so new or existing team members can learn and know how to manage devices quickly
3. To provide a foundation of standards to abide by to make sure hardware is tracked effortlessly

Methods

• The expanded use of Gitbook as an Internal DTS Team wiki resource
• Host user documentation on Knack DTS Portal
• The use of PDF generation to produce & share user documentation
• The use of QR codes to view documentation on a device

Success

Success would achieve all desired goals & deliverables above and start utilizing the improved documentation by all divisions within TPW. Upon advancement of the documentation project, we would like to improve & standardize the hardware process as a whole such as revamping the purchasing and inventory in the Knack DTS Portal and bringing all physical devices up to date.

In preparation for this documentation revamp. A new Gitbook space has been created to house all things Hardware Management and existing documentation is being copied over.
