Background & Context

The Vision Zero Crash Data System centralizes and streamlines the management of Austin Transportations's Vision Zero data. The system consumes and processes vehicle crash data, most prominently from TxDOT's Crash Records Information System (CRIS) and Austin Police Department, and loads it into the Vision Zero Database. Analysts on the Vision Zero team can then review, correct, and enhance the data via the Vision Zero Editor

This robust data is then used to identify high-injury roadways, prioritize safety improvements, and track the impact of our efforts. It is available online and also accessible via the Vision Zero Viewer.
