Project: Parking Meters Work Order System #652

Parking Enterprise needs a data tracker solution for work orders on service and installation of new and existing bike racks. This app can be a simplified copy of the existing markings or signs data tracker app Note: Scope may include a work order tracking solution for the entire work group, not just for this specific use case.

Background

Parking Enterprise is focusing on collecting the location of all the bike racks to perform subsequent site inspections. From this, they'll track repairs and installation on a feature service in AGOL.

Desired Outcome

The solution is successful if we can track the work orders and materials used per bike rack.

The project is currently in scoping. Parking Enterprise is focusing on collecting the location of all the bike racks to perform subsequent site inspections. From this, they'll track repairs and installation on a feature service in AGOL.

How have other divisions/departments/cities addressed similar challenges?

Yes, there was a scoping meeting. We should get it connected here and move this to the backlog.

Not a big deal until this is activated, but at some point will y'all format this to match the Project template?

5/7 David requested access to the Parking Enterprise Portal and Signs and Markings application to understand how the are being used. Response from David: All of this revolves around the new duties the meter shop is taking on. We now install remove bike racks and bike hubs. We are also assisting with sign maintenance/install. May also need to start documenting with a knack app where we install permit signs.

In anticipating assisting with the sign maintenance we are looking at the work order flow from enforcement to the sign shop. We need a better understanding of how both apps work so we can find the most efficient place for us to be in this process. Shavyvonne had shown me where the enforcement folks can enter a work order for a sign issue on their app and we need a better understanding of how that work order could be sent to us and then assigned to a tech to complete while all along providing the sign shop with the info they also need.

We are in the infancy of these new job duties but it has become clear that utilizing the knack app system must be a priority.
