@johnclary @dianamartin - to discuss at your next Warehouse Inventory check in?

dianamartin commented 2 years ago

@amenity I think this needs to be scoped against the revamping work order effort we're doing. He needs to get it cleared by Brian C., I don't think he should be making these types of requests if it hasn't been screened by his own group.

amenity commented 2 years ago

@dianamartin thanks. Can you gather the info you need about the request at one of your regular warehouse inventory meetings? Or is this a known level of effort since we've implemented bulk edits in Knack before?

We can prioritize with Brian at an AMD meeting.

dianamartin commented 2 years ago

@amenity the inventory meeting was scheduled for tomorrow, 12/16. I'll attend if I'm feeling well. @johnclary I think we should invite Joshil and talk about the bulk entry

dianamartin commented 2 years ago

Forwarded meeting invite for 12/16 to Joshil and an email

Not sure if you’ll be available but we’re planning to talk about your request “Bulk Inventory checkouts” idea. If you can’t make it, is it possible for you to send an email to Amenity, John and I describing exactly what your process is and the major pain points you have when creating an inventory check out?

Thanks, @dianamartin.

We propose to create a "Copy" button that allows you to copy a work order. This will copy the work order details and the inventory items.

This functionality would mirror the copy purchase request functionality in the Finance & Purchasing system. See also https://github.com/cityofaustin/atd-data-tech/issues/8036.

Brian C. pointed out that whenever work is issued to EARTC (monthly) they would need to generate ~30 work orders at a time. So the one-off copy wouldn't be optimal.
