Hi. I checked and it turns out that it depends on the distance. As it is a fixed crosshair, shots up close to a wall will appear lower than the crosshair, while shots further away will land closer towards the center of the crosshair, until they'll begin to pass over it eventually. It seems like the original designers aimed for the crosshair to be accurate about 10 in-game meters away from the player.
Given that there is no way to properly fix this without a Serious Sam-like scaling crosshair, I've exposed an crosshair positional offset through a new console command called crosshairoffset
. Setting it to 4 might be ideal in your case.
Seems like shots mostly hit below the crosshair when testing weapons in game. What about an option to toggle lowering the crosshair placement?
