While you've been looking at the sound system...

One thing that would be good would be to select the Roland Sound Canvas VA Software as a legitimate Midi Driver in the audio settings. I have set up this Synthesizer as detailed in a video by PhilsComputerLab (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WumRboSfn90).

I swear this used to work in NBlood (and would have in NotBlood) in previous versions. But I cannot say for sure.

Currently the only way to pick the default system MIDI device is through the command mus_mme_device. Ideally this should be addressed upstream as the other games do not have an accessible method to change this setting via the menu.

Thanks for that information!

I was able to successfully select the Sound Canvas by setting setting the "mus_mme_device" to 1 (which was mapped to sound canvas) and then select the "system midi" from the main menu.
