Replace javascript import by Python #2

The current import script with javascript backend fail with Spidermonkey 1.8.5. As described on the mediatomb user forum, javascript is not the right tool for the job, and is quite cumbersome.

The javascript backend should then be replaced, or at least an alternative should be offered. Python seems to suit the job since it is easy to interface with C, and the language is more lightweight.

I'm glad you do. I have been juggling with the idea for a month but haven't found the time to do it.

did you have any ideas what the python API to mediatomb would look like?

+1 i vote for it. anyway upgrading from libjs 1.8.1 (or 1.8.5 or whatever) to mozjs17 will be a pain in the ass. dixit members from jsapi ircchat.
