    • Review of our Code of Conduct. If you haven't already, complete our intro survey and workshop idea survey. Follow us on Twitter and Slack!
    • First week of month: Onboarding for newcomers, new projects, project/language you started in the previous month
    • Once a month: Urban Drool Tool work session
    • Rest of the month: Workshops
    • Pair programming track: @svincent has been moving the JavaScript Exercism exercises to Glitchโ€”so you don't have to worry about setting up! We are interested in figuring out how to move exercises for other languages to Glitch.

Jim shared about @jensimmons' podcast, The Web Ahead Simeon led an impromptu talk on pass by references, primative vs. object, manual memory vs. managed memory/"garbage collected," .splice() vs. .slice(), scope vs. context, Immediately-invoked Function Expression (IIFE) vs. function declaration Rob showed us @sagemathinc's CoCalc for exploratory and interactive coding for scientific problems/showing not just what you know but "how you know" and explained the architecture: JSON documents are passed/stored b/w a Jupyter client and Python/etc. (language-agnostic) kernel via ZeroMQ.
