As of current commit (1469), while the new map load, it looks for the nonexisting tile numbers #26

as of the most recent commit, the issue was either fixed or bypassed; at least the game doesn't crash immediately.

The issue itself persists: e.g. Turn on the game, create the new world, exit to the title, and create the new world again; you'll get the app crashed.

It seems the issue is mostly resolved. The culprits were:

  1. Dangling pointer: some codes were accessing the memory that is already been freed. Dangling pointer detection code is installed, but it does have a performance drop.
  2. Stale context: some codes were assigning an ingame context at init time, of which is invalidated (becomes "stale") when a new game (or a new ingame instance) is created, but the value it holding cannot change in this way; always use getter to avoid this issue.

I'm closing this issue; future self (or hypothetical collaborators) may re-open.

Turns out the Loading screen was the culprit, and since getting absolutely correct loading screen is not needed at all, I just inserted try-catch block on the relevant part of the code.
