Period-O and place Gazetteer enrichment? #190

Are we going to attempt mapping via Period-O and place gazetteers? If so what are the aims

eg would it serve to produce dates or coordinates for resources that only refer to a period or placename (without any numeric values). Are there any resources in this category or do all resources actually have numeric values?

and/or would it help standardisation eg of place name variants?

Eg we've seen examples of resources without dates or without p;lace coordinates and they will be invisible in a search by the missing facet.

A free text search on 'churches' gives some 28,643 records but a filter on the whole date range brings it down to 16,985 results

Or zooming in on a spatial search on Ireland gives a high density in Northern Ireland but a low density in the South (and the ones we looked at were from ADS not Discovery)

For each Publisher it would be good to do a check that the basic What/Where/When fields have been mapped correctly to the Registry
