Hello @davidgohel , I am new to R and would first like to express my gratitude for your great work through packages like ReporteRs and Officer. Over the last couple of days , I have spent a lot of time trying to read through the documentation of these packages . I was wondering if you can help me by answering the following questions :

  1. Is there a way to use the combination of Officer and Reporters ?
    • Can you kindly provide an example / documentation where both the packages can be used in unison ?
  2. Assuming (1) is not possible in short term or not possible at all ,
    • Can you kindly explain if there is a way to get references to slides in ReporteRs similar to officer ?
    • An equivalent of this for ReporteRs will be very helpful
      PptHandle <- read_pptx() PptHandle <- PptHandle %>% on_slide(index = 1)

Kindly let me know

Best Uday

Hello Uday

The purpose of officer is to replace ReporteRs. There will not be new features in ReporteRs but it is maintained. I don't understand why you want to combine both but there should not be any problem.

As it seems there is no issue to solve, I am closing the ticket.

Hello David , Understanding that ReporteRs will not have any new features added - it means that it cannot get a reference for slides in power point making it harder to select a specific slide. Since Officer is the replacement - is it possible to request a feature to be added ?

Kindly let me know

Best Uday
