Playtesting revealed that players would almost always take at least one recon sniper and use the UAV to track down enemies faster. This meant that every round started with five minutes of most of the team sitting around while one player flew the UAV and marked the enemy location. The UAV scan feature provides that role automatically and removes the recon sniper loadout to speed up gameplay.
