UpdateRequest API does not report errors clearly (Cannot approve PhEDEx request) #936

Dear all,

I cannot approve PhEDEx request #399927.

Which corresponds to, as instance, /WH_ZH_HToGG_M-110_8TeV-pythia6/Summer12_DR53X-PU_RD1_START53_V7N-v2/AODSIM (& DQM stuff)

Each time I tried to approve it, I got a similar message: Error time=2013-06-21 13:14:56 UTC id=289a66346ca5a32ef9b4be5481ebc9ce

Hi,

sorry for the delay investigating this. The reason for the error is that that dataset was already subscribed to your site as a move request, so could not then be subscribed as a replica. Clearly the error message needs to be updated to reflect this better!

Request 399929 is the conflicting request, approved by you at 9:17 on June 21st.

I'm guessing these requests were made at the same time, before 399929 was approved, or the conflict would have been caught earlier.

I've changed the ticket title to reflect this and will leave it open as a bug report for me to fix.

fixed in 2.1.17, which is already released
